  • AF40-6 Oil change (3.5 L version) - DIY needed

    Hi guys,

I want to change the oil inside my auto gearbox but I am not being able to find an appropriate tutorial on how to do it.

First and foremost, is it an easy DIY for a guy that does most of the repairs on his car on his own?

I've been quoted a really high price from the local dealer to change it so I'd rather do it myself if it's an easy/fast task.

I have the 2.0 CDTi engine (160 hp) if it matters.

What is the best/easiest way to approach the oil change (3.5 L method, not to fully replace the oil). Is it easy to locate both bolts - for filling/emptying the gearbox etc.

    Thanks!

With 125.000km I decided to change AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION oil... again. First change was on 80.000km. Opel(Vauxhall) state that it is "fill for life" (it is also stated for rear differential, Haldex coupling, transferbox, power steering itc.- so you dont need to change anything #hithead) IMPORTANT! This is for AF40-6
