  • Haldex problems

Hi everyone, I have an Insignia vxr with 17.000 motorway miles on clock and have Haldex problems already. Before I bought car at 6 months old and 2 k on clock I did a lot of research. I was under the impression that my Aug 2014 facelift car was fitted with a gen 5 Haldex unit. Apparently not. Vauxhall main dealers not interested. Just paid 146£ from them yesterday for 2 litres of oil... Now I’m trying to buy the gasket between Haldex/ diff ( full service kit) but not getting any difinitive answers. I was a member of vxronline but it’s gone a bit weird so jumped ship. Any advice from you guys would be well appreciated. Thank you

Firstly never buy fluids from Opel, vastly overpriced even with their service club crap. Is this the bit you want No6?https://img.7zap.com/oem/opel/images_big/G09/290481.png

Opel / Vauxhall Insignia 2009 ->. FREE GIFT! During these years, we’ve never had any complaints about the quality of the oil and broken gearboxes. German law says that from 2015, every car manufacturer should have at least 3 independent suppliers of its car assembly line.

Thank you for replies, tell the truth I’ve just parked it up. Very upset to find it’s not a gen five. I saw a 2015 model and diff was same as mine so I don’t get Vauxhalls claim that facelift models had 60% new rear suspension. I took oil pump off Haldex and maybe only 100 mill of oil came out. Diff level was ok so don’t know where oil went. Tiny bit of debris came out inc a tiny bit of rubber so don’t know if that seal in between gone. I just don’t wanna drive anymore. Horrible feeling driving it knowing you have a substandard diff/ Haldex system. I have a 2000 Audi A4 Quattro with 170 , 000 on it and never missed a beat. VXRs should be recalled

Do you have to plug Haldex into laptop when changing pump or oil and filter? Any heads up would be real cool. Thanks

Reason I ask about Facebook is there is a guy on the insignia vxr page called matt Duffield. He works at MW performance and really knows his stuff on the VXRs. He will be able to give you plenty of advice.

Thanks for info, unfortunately I’m not into Facebook but I’m slowly getting the picture about Haldex/ diff. When I changed my diff oil it was full up so I know the seal is intact. ( no swarf In oil either) so I don’t think I’ve anything wrong as now I changed Haldex oil too I’ve no issues. I’m trying to do as much as possible myself as I’d like to keep car. Bristol transmissions are advertising a new diff / Haldex unit for 2250. Thanks again for info
