  • Disassemble M32 transmission and using old bolts

    Good day,

    Here I am.....again.

Title must be: all parts which needs to be dissasembled to get at the gearbox like subframe and swaybar etc. These bolts are advised to be replaced.

When I follow Opel Tis 2000 they tell me to change a lot of bolts, to be precise:

    Versterkingsubframe 2x 11588739
    Moer wiel aandrijfas 2x 13217120
    Moer draagarm voor 2x 11609282
    Bout draagarm voor 2x 11611833
    Bout draagarm achter 4x 11589279
    Moer draagarm achter 4x 11609282
    Bout stuurhuis 2x 13253472
    Ring stuurhuis 2x 11071813
    Moer stuurhuis 2x 11094488

Is it really nescesarry? It is like 100 pounds original

Did you guys replaced all bolts?

      Hi!

Thanks for the link, but My fault, I am not clear enough, I mean all these bolts are not for the Transmission but are parts which needs to be dissasembled to get at the gearbox

Hello crunch81 from what I can see you have taken the engine and gearbox out , and dropped the subframe , and removed the steering rack ? And left the clutch assembly and backing plate in the car .
In my mind as long as none of the bolts you have taken out are of the stretch design ( like head bolts ) you soon know that because the tightening sequence involves using a predetermined angle set by an angle gauge , then you should be able to re-use the old bolts .because you are going by the information supplied by TIS which is the workshop method , they always say to replace every bolt .
Most of thease bolts i recon are just pre applied with locking compound ( loctite) which is generally available from any spares shop .
Hope that helps a bit .

                Just a quick tip:

Install the stabilizer bar BEFORE putting back the steering rack and sub frame [emoji57]
