Engine Swap

Hi could anybody help.

Engine seized on 11 plate 2.0 160 cdti i have replaced with the same engine from an 09 plate.

Everything seems to be in place have fired it up sounds sweet just cant get it to crank on the key any ideas?

Is the immobiliser kicking in?

All lights clear on dash so I think the car recognises the key although it has been stood for nearly 2 months with ecu out. When I turn the key I get nothing doesn’t even try

I would get a code reader on it and see what it says

Hello banks ,how did you get it to fire ?
Have you checked the simple things like your ground connections , pinched wires , make sure all plug connections are clean , and fully plugged in .
If you had an immobiliser fault , think the yellow light on the dash with the picture of a car and a spanner , would be solid .not flashing ( but I could be completely wrong)
As lewish a good quality code reader is the way forward , don't go cheap because some can't read the codes , so could give you mis information .( i.e. NFF)
