  • Frustrated new Vauxhall owner

Hi folks, I'm wanting so advice and hopefully direction.

    Recently bought a 2014 Insignia, 61k, 160bhp diesel.

Got the low pressure alarm and after a lot of reading up, replaced the oil pickup seal and pressure sensor.

I'm still getting the alarm in the mornings, a new alarm appeared, vehicle service soon.

Took it to a diagnostic guy and he reset the ECU but one fault keeps appearing P0520, oil pressure sensor.

The sensor was replaced and to be honest the oil pick up seal looked in good condition, similar to the new one.

    Can anyone advise next steps?

    Thanks in advance.

      Hi,

Can't really help with your issue. Could the new sensor be dodgy? Maybe try another one.

Welcome aboard and hold tight MR Iang8
Get the oil pressure tested to make sure you have sufficient oil pressure.
              Who did the seal?
Did the low oil, pressure warning come back on straight away after fitting new seal ?

not sure where you live, but this man is the guru for insignias, we took my wifes (my old) 2014 CDTI 163 through to him to have the oil seal done, 1 and 3/4 hours each way but more than work it.

Who changed the oil seal originally? I wonder if they followed all the steps in this video, including correct torquing of bolts and allowing enough time for the sealant to cure before starting the engine for the first time?

Yea that's the next job, gonna get the pressure tested. Yea the alarm came up again after the seal change but the seal that came out didn't look or feel much different to the new one which is why I think it has to be a different problem.
