Hi! I’ve just treated myself to a new to me 2016 insignia 2.0cdti Sri 170. Picking it up tomorrow! It’s already done 65000 miles, pulls like a train and no untoward noise anywhere. Albeit a slight pop from the clutch pedal, any ideas what this could be? Also, are there any common issues I should look out for? This is my first Vauxhall, so don’t know a great deal about them, seem to be fairly decent cars though.

I’m also open to any cheap styling mods I can do to the car without making it look tacky! All ideas welcome! I’d love to stick a set of atomics on there when my budget improves.

a lot of them suffer from the clutch pedal noise,,its more prevalent in the warmer weather,,sometimes a bit spray grease on the spring at the top of the pedal helps

Thanks for the reply. So it’s just one of those annoying things! I’ll stick some grease on it tomorrow, I assume it won’t lead to an expensive fix later down the road?

some have had the whole pedal box replaced under warranty to fix the issue,my old one did it,but was out of warranty ,so lived with it,,bit lithium grease every few months kept it quietened down

Clear for take off Groovy Blues and welcome.
Just remember just spray the arm not the pedal , there's nothing like a slippery pedal to make your bum start spitting penny washers .
Cheap mods ? Spray your wheels a funny colour . But that's tacky as well !

Hi Aaron,

I've never heard of the clicking clutch pedal failing completely. Just an annoyance really. If you can live with it and quieten it with grease you shouldn't have any bigger issues from it.

Already don't notice clicking clutch pedal, if gets any worse il get it in under warranty.

Lol cheap mods lead to expensive mods. Buy a sharpie, black for wheels red for LEDs

Thanks for the replies. I’ve got 12 month used car warranty on it. However, I suspect it won’t cover common faults! I can deal with the noise, just turn the stereo up a bit!! I’ll keep an eye on it. Love the car though. Came from a C-Max which I grew to hate, very pleased to get rid of it.
