Would you advise getting the pick up seal done on a 2014 facelift on 67k? Or have I got a few more miles left before I should worry.

Hi guys just wondered how most people view the a20dth engine, (160cdti) looking online there’s a lot who have had seized engines, low oil pressure and general engine destroying faults. Is this a Realy bad engine or a case of the few failures arnt that bad considering how many of them engines in use? Spoke to two mechanics and one said it’s a terrible block and other said he’s not seen any with big problems.

I am on my second insignia with this engine. First I done 50k in and only had the EGR cooler replaced current one I have done 60k in and the cars just done 85 and apart from a boost solenoid giving me a bit limp mode no issues.

Sorry to jump on this thread, but what is this seal I keep hearing of that everyone seems to recommend replacing?

The pickup oil seal
The 2.0 cdti 130 160 including the Bi turbo models are known .
It's the best piece of preventative maintenance you can ever do .
It's well documented on here .
