Yes sorry 1.8 Sri 2010
I went for another drive last night and the temperature was at 90 then all of a sudden message on dash a/c turned off due to hot temperature and the dial was about 110 on the temp then within a few minutes went back to 90
?????????? Anyone else had this happen and I’ve ordered a new thermostat should be here today .

did you bleed the system ?
If not then there could still be air within the system , and as the air bubbles are escaping that could be lowering the coolant level .
But if you did the above then I would say it requires pressure testing .
How much are you loosing ?
