  • Engine surge.

Hi, all, hope you're all well, this is my first Insignia, and first diesel in fact, so not 100% on how it should perform ... hence my query. It's a 2016 1.6 DTI Ecoflex 49k on clock had it just over two weeks and at 35mph or so when I shift to 5th gear, and without touching the accelerator pedal, the car surges so I have to break to slow it and move back to 4th to gain full control. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks for your reply, Jakxta, but if I'm travelling too slow shouldn't the engine chug a little rather than speed up?

Post the problem in the relevant section.

You might get a better response as this is the section for introducing yourself and saying "hello"

Well I've noticed I can get from stationary to 30mph without touching the accelerator in mine, just pulling off the gears, but it stops pulling on its own after 3rd gear. Sounds kinda fun though haha
