I had an MG Montego Turbo i bought it in 1994 it was 3 years old H reg. It was fast dont get me wrong 2.0 turbo engine was spot on never missed a beat it was the rest of the car that was a problem the rear arches went in the 1st year of ownership i ended up bogging them they were that bad. the power sunroof leaked the elecy windows had a mind of their own and the bolsters on the drivers seat started to wear very quickly. I bought it with just 43k on the clock and sold it within 3 years had enough of it. Ive had the Insignia 8 years now its never missed a beat either prolly never sell it. But i know i want a vxr8 in about 5 years but al still keep the insiggy

Can't say really hated any of my cars. The good ones where good, bad ones where cheap so didn't matter. Lost most money on the XR2, MG Maestro 2.0 Efi was fastest in straight line, Cavilier and 405 both good buys, escort, orion, skoda rapide, zsara, Toyota all good buys, Vectra B best value £450 for 3 1/2 years motoring. Cavilier 1.8Gli most expensive to repair, engine and gearbox. MG Metro most fun along with XR2, Vectra B 2.5 V6 most disappointing, Rover 218 and both mondeos just good runabouts.
INSIGNIA fav car along with XR2 and MG Metro, even thou I'm not friends with it right now .

worst was the voyager......engine would cut out 60% of the time the clutch was pressed but thankfully and old lady wrote it off for me.
multipla was the first mpv and first diesel i had and little did i know it had quite a rare factory body kit on it, didnt sell for a year and was parked on my dads front lawn so the underside rotted, but i still have a soft spot for them....

So I could say (but classifying as car is debatable) Reliant Supervan 3, was my first form of transport without getting wet and it was so unreliable I need honda C50 as backup, But many years latter I purchased LandRover TD5 one owner with full LR service history 90,000 mile and the things that went wrong with that was just ridiculous, had it 18 month only because needed to be able to move heavy twin axle caravan, soon as caravan went so did LR never will I have anything with Land rover name in my garage again.

Had two that qualify. First was a Fiat Regatta Weekend Estate 1.6 kept pushing the shock absorber through the top bushes, become a dab hand at replacing them. Both driver and passenger doors leaked. Engine would cut out without warning, one time in the middle lane of the M6. Never did find out what the cause was.
The other was a Ford Sierra Estate 1.8, 0 to 60 in 20 sec's it was gutless, rear door rotted away in front of my eyes. When I overtook a lorry, its slip stream would pull me in, as though car was running along the back edge of the stream. Had both cars less than 18 months.
Sold the Fiat to bye the Ford sold the ford to bye my first Vauxhall Cavalier 2.0, a Carlton 20 a V6 2.5 Cavalier, an Omega. (owned 11 years) an Insignia, to my present insignia. The Cav 2.5 alternator regulator blew, the Carlton had new distributor cap and my first Insignia gear box ECU was replaced, under warranty.
                Not bad over six Vauxhalls.

K reg Rover 820 Si Fastback. I was serving in the RAF in Germany when I bought it as I thought it would be good for driving home on leave. Little did I know that the build quality was so poor it simply started falling apart. On one trip home as we were driving off the ferry at Calais the clutch totally disintegrated, meaning we had to spend a night in Calais and hire a car in the morning and then return to Calais in a week to pick the car up. Calais was a 3 hour drive from my unit.

VW Fox. Engine would make more noise than actual power, cheap plastic everywhere and the suspension was so rough that you could feel every bump on the road. Plus points? Easy to park and spacious for an small car.

                      This little nugget
For those not old enough, this is a DAF 66 with the vairomatic gearbox
Basically 2 large rubber bands for transmission.
Best part about it , it had a webasto roof
Worst things engine made by singer the sewing machine manufacturer.
Steering wheel the size of a ship steering wheel and the road holding of one to boot .
And of course the vairomatic rubber bands
And I remember the starter solinoid which was supposed to stop you staring it in park or reverse did not work
So I ended up driving it into the garage door at home best thing for it !

See the old cars had character. each and every car needed to be driven in a different way but once you got to know there ways they became friends (in Memory forever).
