  • Don't drive fast through a puddle in the insignia a!

So today I learned the hard way, my road gets flooded every year, it's unavoidable, in my first car if you went through too slowly the water would get in the car and cause the belts to squeak and slide. Anyway, I'm used to just powering through it. Today I tackled it for the first time in the Insignia and had a bit of a shock. I could hear a noise after going up and down with the revs, I assumed something was sliding so I slowed down to a stop and heard some knocking sound. I jumped out to find this!

Turns out the water forced its way behind the wheel arch liner and rolled the whole thing up on top of the wheel, all pop clips are gone! All gone from the other side too but luckily it was still where it should be. Took a lot of force and a bruised shin to unfold it, now waiting on an Amazon order tomorrow of a whole load of replacement pop clips

Your liner may have been loose before you went through the flood water. Went Norfolk for a week in my tin tent. On the A47 Peterbouourgh bypass in heavy rain, very dark, had slowed down a bit to below 50 because of the rain, when I hit flood water in the inside lane. couldn't move out as I was being overtaken. Didn't see it, Literately sailed through. No damage. had a few dash lights flicker a bit.

True, the one that lost all its clips but didn't come off, I had removed and put back on a few weeks before, never touched the other one

There is on the front, it was the back half of the liner on both sides, those are only the plastic pop clips, luckily the fronts stayed firmly on.

Haha that was my first impression too at the time! It took a lot to unfold but it literally popped straight back into shape, apart from all the pop clips being missing you wouldn't know it had happened haha

Ah I've had the same happen to me (on the same side too) after going through a puddle but it was the front of the liner squashed against the wheel. Thought it was a twig that got stuck and when I got to my destination found it all folded up behind the wheel.

Got a pack of 10 push pin clip things and replaced the now missing one from the front :P

                EDIT: Here is the link
