Yeah... explain it to the people who argued with me before you in the thread... that there is no problem with the car. Vauxhall are shitE, they shitE themselves with the oil pump just like VAG did with 2.0. Gearbox is shitE and need to change bearing rings if you want easy and smooth gear changing.

You'll find most cars have some sort of problem which is common. In the nicest way possible, by the sounds of how you feel about the car it's probably best to move on rather than work yourself up

We pay money for something that should work as it's planned to be, not supposed to be fixed or upgraded to do the work. And 95% of the time we know more than most of the qualified specialists at dealerships. Because they don't think out of the box. They just open the shelf, door or a box if the solution (part) is there the problem is solved. If not they don't have a clue. I fixed the navigation of a friend who has citroen c5 2009 for 20£ while citroen wanted to charge him 150 and there was no guarantee that this will work even with supplied vin...

Every make and model of car will have its problems. Personally, I did 55k in a pre-facelift 2.0 CDTi with very few problems, and my son in law is now running it (mileage almost up to 100k). I replaced it with a GS 1.5T petrol, and again am experiencing no problems whatsoever (touch wood!)
I'm sure there are many 508/Mondeo/Passat/Octavia owners who have had problems, and as a result won't touch another car of that manufacturer, but frequently you only hear the horror stories, rather than tales of uneventful ownership like mine.

Bi-colour 18" alloys, de-chromed grille and foglights, full heated leather, reversing cam with park assist, heated front screen and steering wheel, blind spot monitoring, self parking (used once, it's crap!), Nextbase 522GW front & rear dashcams

I completely understand your thinking on this and wouldn't it be great if everything was simple. We all know this is just something we have to deal with in this day and age unfortunately, not much we can do about it either apart from complain. If you think about it, most things in life are flawed in some way or another, not just cars. Very rare over the years, that I invested in anything without risks, just always find there is some sort of caveat, especially if it's second hand. All I'm saying is there is no point coming on here and telling everyone that the brand is rubbish, when most people are happy with their car in general, knowing fullwell that something could go wrong or isn't to their liking....it's just how it is. If it irritated me that much, I'd just get rid and try something else, however keep in mind that you might just move from one problem to another. You can go on any forum and you'll find plenty of people having some sort of issue. Life's too short to work yourself up about it

I could put it a different way but hope that was diplomatic enough 0011728? Don't like to come accross as arrogant

I use a comparison site every time, you get good introductory offers but then come renewal they nearly always want more, so swap again.
Most companies are owned by about 4 big ones anyway. Direct line and Churchill are the same etc. I always also get breakdown cover as its usually cheaper than buying it seperate.

M and S premium cover, but after a few years need to leave for a year as hike it up. Then go back for original price. I also get breakdown included. Currently I pay £420

Funny story... I was with Rias a couple of years ago with my Insignia a ST paying about £250 incl breakdown. That was full no claims clean licence. I retired reduced annual mileage by 4k took off commuting and at renewal they put it up. When I rang to ask why they said 'I might now drive on roads I don't know'.....ehhthead
