I'm sure they'll get over it.
I had the insignia A Sri nav tourer. Behind the side pannels in the boot it was stuffed with sound deadening material. Like a wooly fleece. Some of it was stitched so it made a concertina to absorb noise. Check to see if yours has any, I couldn't comment on the saloon/hatch but I would imagine they are similar.
Also I think the insignia is sensitive to tyres. Vauxhall as far as I know always specced tyres with concentric solid bands of rubber such as the continentals and bridgestones. I dont think they take kindly to other patterns such as a v groove. Inside edges on the rear tyres wear to form a saw tooth effect which you will be able to see and feel which is more common on tyres that a broken tread block on the inner edges. This creates a noise like the wheel bearings have gone even on a smooth surface!
Hope this helps, if not somone might post some other suggestions.

Welcome aboard. You have to watch out there are some dodgy folks on here that get upset worst than my 3 year old but you shouldn't need to worry about them, they'll get over it after they found their dummy .
