  • nextbase dashcam power on delay

I have some cheap dashcam at the moment and the quality is good, but everytime I start the car keep getting error on sd card due to power cut on engine start, kit is hardwired and I can fix this simply by waiting 20-30 sec to start the car, do nextbase dash cams have power on delay by any chance?

    Thanks in advance

I had a522 fitted just before Christmas, have had no trouble with this (although I have turned park mode off)

Bi-colour 18" alloys, de-chromed grille and foglights, full heated leather, reversing cam with park assist, heated front screen and steering wheel, blind spot monitoring, self parking (used once, it's crap!), Nextbase 522GW front & rear dashcams

Think a lot of problems with the nextbase is the SD card that's being used----I have the 322 model with the rear camera fitted to it and I tried several of my old SD cards and the cam would not work---had to buy a nextbase SD card for it to work [2 cameras]------Dave

        I didn't buy a Nextbase SD card for mine - they were really overpriced. Using a Transcend 128Gb UHS-I U3 V30 A1 Class 10, £14, no problems at all. That's on a 522GW with modular rear-view camera.

I just have sordet mine, just came back from the car...
I've cheap dual camera on board too.
          Had same issue as above.

Inserted a new Samsung sd card in it, and it works fine now.
As soon as I click the key , the camera turns on and starts recording, key out - and in 30 sec switched off.
Key in - camera ON, key out - camera Off.

I have had no problem either. Just fitted my gw522 with rear camera and I got a Samsung 64gb u3 memory card for £24.

It turns on pretty much straight away. My only grip with it is the rear camera seems to move when the boot is open and shut

Not sure all the above answer my question but from reading manual doesn't look like the is power on delay in menu, hmm looks like my own just have very crap battery because even with park mode off overnight just drain battery, so when I switch ignition on device starts and because insignia cuts power to most things on startup my dash cam just throws a wobbly, this would explain why is fine when I leave ignition on for a bit longer before starting so the device can boot up correctly

Yes my old dash cam really didn't like getting switched on then back off again so quickly. New can had a 5 second or 10 second delay which works perfectly. Parking mode lasts 12 hours, have it set to deactivate at 12.2 volts. Only deactivates if don't use car all weekend.

Not a nextbase. I nearly got one, but this one worked out cheaper and 7 full parking modes available. Video quality probably not as good as nextbase, but it's still decent.
