Sandstone sealer ideas??

Morning all, last summer I had the back garden done, laid Indian Sandstone. I know that it's recommended to leave it for quite a while before sealing so have now left it around 9/10 months.

Does anyone have any decent recommendations for a good sealant that lasts, ideally giving the wet look??

Cheers gents.. Took a while to get it done because after I had an extension built whilst doing a complete renovation of the place after we bought it, we was basically left with a total mess





Now it's very usable, low maintenance and child friendly



Had exactly the same with the front of the house to... again all caused by the total renovation of the house when we bought it...

again minimal maintenance and still has a good feel to it.

Took me from August 17 to Jan 18 whilst working away on a 28 day on 28 day off rotation to complete the inside... so in reality I really only had a solid 3 month run at it, the whole layout downstairs was totally changed. Had 2 bedrooms at the back of the house but removed them, extended the rear and created another bedroom at the front of the house, so went from a 4 bed, to a 3 bed but created a large open plan living area.

Demo work started literally as soon as the keys were in my hand..

This was what I was left with when I took down the wall between the 2 downstairs bedrooms (before the back of the house came off for the extension)



Then off came the back of the house, new foundations for the extension and in went the steelwork, new screed to level the floors and the bifold doors and windows.




It was a running battle daily completing the renovation as the previous owners had it from new back in the early 60's and done absolutely nothing to it and I do mean nothing at all. As I did one job, another 2-3 needed doing. It seems the house was built on the cheap, cheap materials, a lot of botched work which all had to be put right..
All new central heating, full rewire, additional insulation, new floors, new walls, created a downstairs toilet, moved the stairs to open up the living space and the end result for the open plan area was done

Obviously had Health & Safety doing his daily visits )



And then finally moved in, in the Jan 18 )

Well done, those piles of rubble! You should be proud of that.

All in all, I think I finally managed to remove close to around 45/50Ton of stuff, every internal wall, floors, ceilings, doors, ANYTHING and everything. Skip after skip.

Was a labour of love tbh.

I would say DIY sos but you would not want Nick Knowls round your house looking haggard as if he's done all the work and playing his guitar in a droning voice .

Thanks pal... was worth the hard graft to get it how we wanted it. kids love it because they've literally got their own play room now, which me & the Mrs will turn into the adult room when the kids have outgrown the need for a playroom.

It's like my very own happy place.... apart from working on the car

That's exactly why I did it.... Didn't help the fact that I was renting a place at the same time as trying to renovate the new house so was paying rent & a mortgage... had to get it done and get in.

But yeah... Perfect investment. Think I've already made quite a nice chunk of change in the time we've had it.

Hopefully in the next 12 months or so we'll maybe try and get another one and get some long term tenants in to it.... a good retirement plan even though i'm still the best part of 30 years off that
