  • Stuck on dirt and grime

After a foam and shampoo this morning I noticed that the paintwork felt very rough to the touch and looked horrid. So out came the rotary as I simply couldn't just leave it like that.

It's almost as if there had been some kind of reaction between products used on the car. The dealer told me that they had protected the paintwork with a Diamond Bright coating (I can't remember the exact name). I suspect the hydrophobic products I've been using lately had reacted with it. It just had to come off.

    Products used -
    EZ Sub Zero Snow Foam
    EZ Cherry /bomb Shampoo
Chemical Guys Scratch & Swirl Remover with the rotary
Chemical Guys Creme Glaze applied by hand
    EZ Chrome Spray Sealant
    EZ Gloss Boss Detailing spray

The wheels and tyres weren't touched after the foam and shampoo as they came up great.

5 hours work in total. #knackered.

We all like reflections don't we. I also purposely took direct sunlight shots; they're the best way to see if you need to stop polishing.

In the fourth photo, it looks like you are wearing your pants over your trousers.

Had Diamond Brite in the Astra J. Fantastic stuff, in over 3 years never really did much more than wash and dry it, and top up the protection every 3 months. Cost nearly £500 but I found it was well worth it.
First 2 photos the day I got car. Next 4 the day before she went neay 3.5 years later. Last photo was also day got car.
