  • Average miles between DPF regenerations

    Hi

Probably more for people that have fitted a dpf regeneration light. What are you averaging between dpf regenerations. I'm probably getting 350 miles between and it is a mixture of town and out of town journeys. Mostly around 15 miles average. (2.0 DTH 165 bhp) Just curious what others seem to get between.

    Thanks
    Andy

160 here. Only cause it’s mainly round town driving.

Since lockdown I have done less than 100 miles

Mines did it every 1100 km before the Corona virus. I normally drove about 220 km a day, 110 km single trip, mostly 100 km/h or faster.

Every 220 to 250 miles. That's with 13 mile run twice a day. Distance increases the more miles I do.

Normal driving, some town and country driving it's about 350 miles. Working it hardish, with my tin tent on the back, did a 400 mile journey, plus what it had done before hitching up, 600 plus.

Thanks for all that replied. It definitely seems related to the length of journeys you tend to do. Probably the cold starting and running that increases the soot in the filter quicker.

mine is every 2000 - 3000 miles, once over 4 or 5 tanks. I can't think a regen twice on one tank is normal.

                      Huh. Those are adblue figures.
The 170 engine regens slightly different to the rest of the engines, its doesn't wait until a set level, if conditions are right and its a set time from last regen it does one. I went 5k thinking I'd not had one.

                        Wow

They must really have improved things on the new model. I have had several diesels with dpf including a 2016 Audi A6 and never got anywhere near that distance between regens. The Audi was around 450 miles even though it was doing longer journeys.

I have noticed that too. My old 165ps Astra would do it every 300 miles or so. My 170 I have only noticed it a handful of times. Not near 5k. The AdBlue will help reducing the regen cycle. No matter what they always happen when I'm within 5 mins of home

Yes always when just getting home or just getting to work.
