Hi,
I'm a new member of the geriatric variety.
I've always done all my own maintenance and even if I say so myself, I'm not too bad at it.
I've rebuilt a few engines after broken valves, done a few engines that needed a rebore, replaced dual mass flywheels and of course all the usual - brakes, exhausts, cam belts and water pumps and general servicing etc.
But now that I'm 66 I am hoping that I don't have to do too many of the heavy jobs (those DMF's are heavy, never mind trying to get a gearbox up off the ground).
Currently got a 2014 facelift 2.0 140bhp hatchback with stop-start. Recently done the front brakes, but I am looking for information on the rear calipers as it's got an electric handbrake. (Do you need to release the handbrake and set it in the service position or not, and do you just wind the pistons in the same as my old Zafira B - or do you just push the pistons back? And the stop-start only seems to work for a while after a friend told me to stall the engine - wonder why?)
Also I have an Opcom that has cars listed up to 2010, but is there one available for a 2014 car?
And I must apologise if this is the wrong way to introduce myself by listing why I'm here (selfishly looking for information) but I'm also new to any sort of forum and I'm trying to work out how forums work.
Thanks in advance for any guidance.
Jeff
