  • Intermediate driveshaft removal

    Hi all,

I'm changing my driveshaft seals but the offside is a real pig.

On the attached picture I am assuming I need to remove the entire support bearing housing (bolts indicated by no. 21). Or do I need to remove the bolts indicated by no. 19 to slide the intermediate shaft out of the gearbox.

The reason I ask is that I have tried removing the whole bearing housing but it catches on what I think is the oil cooler and there is no clearance.
Surely the bearing is pressed into the housing so wont budge if I try the other bolts.

    Am I missing something?

Car is 1.6CDTI (SRi Nav) with the B16DTH engine and M32 Gearbox.

Ignore me, I was being a dick. The bolts at 19 undo and the whole thing slides out.
I was surprised that there was no snap ring on the transmission end of the shaft though. I suppose the intermediate shaft being held in place by the bracket achieves the same thing.
