Why does the AC switch light up when i put the heater blower on, for some reason it always comes on when i want heat only, Am i right in thinking the AC is only for blowing cold air, if i wanted the AC on i would press the button myself, maybe i have this all wrong, as my last car did not have the AC come on every time i just want heat.

Thanks Guys, it makes sense alright, to demist fairly fast when you need it, i might try putting the heater on, with the button directing air to the windscreen turned off, and see if the AC comes on automatically, as usually i just want a blast of hot air, with no need for demisting, and i always see the AC light on, i just press it off. i just wish it stayed off in normal heating mode.

I never turn my ac off. Just because the light is on doesn't mean its blowing cold air. If you're using the heating, all the ac will be doing is dehumidifying. I tend to set the temperature at 20-21 winter and summer unless its scorching hot in a summer then I'll setting it to Lo. Setting at around 21 with the ac on lets it blow hot and cold as needed.2017 Vauxhall Insignia Grand Sport Sri Nav 1.5 (165ps) Turbo petrol in Lava Red - Keyless entry and start - 18” five spoke alloy wheels - Front fog lights - Tinted rear windows - Aluminium sports pedals - Ambient interior led lighting - Front and rear parking assist - Active emergency braking - Forward collision assist - Front pedestrian alert - Traffic sign recognition - Lane keep assist - Cruise control - Speed warning and limiter - Voice recognition - Bluetooth - Duel zone climate control - Front and rear electric windows - High beam assist - Auto lights - Auto wipers - Wifi hotspot - 8” colour touchscreen Navi 900 with Android Auto, Apple Car Play and DAB

Nah it's good for the seals. One of the biggest problems people cause their air con is turning it off for the summer. There's more to it than just cooling. But you know all that cos you're pulling my pisser. It's good to let others know who may not though.2017 Vauxhall Insignia Grand Sport Sri Nav 1.5 (165ps) Turbo petrol in Lava Red - Keyless entry and start - 18” five spoke alloy wheels - Front fog lights - Tinted rear windows - Aluminium sports pedals - Ambient interior led lighting - Front and rear parking assist - Active emergency braking - Forward collision assist - Front pedestrian alert - Traffic sign recognition - Lane keep assist - Cruise control - Speed warning and limiter - Voice recognition - Bluetooth - Duel zone climate control - Front and rear electric windows - High beam assist - Auto lights - Auto wipers - Wifi hotspot - 8” colour touchscreen Navi 900 with Android Auto, Apple Car Play and DAB
