    EH service package cost

    My car was in for it's third service today. The last of a 3 year pre paid plan I took when I bought the car so when I arrived, they already had the paper work ready for me hoping I'd sign up for another two years. My excuse was I'm unsure if I'll be keeping the car but in reality, I'm done with dealer services. Anyway the price they quoted was £322. This covers,

      Our liittle un was in for service & Mot today. It's 17 now so needs a few bits each year but still drives like new. It was bought new so only ever driven by me or my wife. Anyway I was pleased with the bill from our local independent which included:
      Check top up and lubricate service parts, fully synthetic oil and filter, (minus air filter/spark plugs not required on this service) replace o/s outer drive coupling, both n/s and o/s front brake flexi couplings, replace n/s front rigid brake pipe, strip down rear drums replace shoes, remove front brake callipers and drill out and modify bleed nipples (they were corroded), carry out Mot test. Total £303.40 incl vat.
      Can't imagine what a dealer would have charged!

        Yeah my future servicing is gonna be done by the bloke who did my MOT on Friday. He charges around 90 quid. I'll never do it myself. I detest working under the bonnet or on any other mechanical part of a car. I'd rather pay for someone else to do it. I draw the line after topping up screen wash.
