Satnav HMI UNIT help!

Hi, I'm new to the forum. I've got a 2016 2.0 CDTI Ecoflex Design NA and the sat nav stopped working. I took it to Vauxhall who tell me its the radio HMI unit and will cost £1200 for a new one. I don't have that money so I looked about and saw I could get a used one for a couple of hundred. I mentioned this to Vauxhall who tell me they could fit it but it would need sps coding and there's no guarantee that it will pair with the car and that the one I buy will have been paired to that specific car. They can't be sure as they haven't done one before but think its 50/50 they'll get it to work. Obviously I don't want to shell out a couple of hundred quid for a turkey, so wondered if anyone else had got round this problem? I've noticed people saying online that its an anti theft error that comes up when you ft it.
