hi just wondering how much do you think it has cost you in total to fit the camera and all the parts?only ask as i have been thinking of doing this intead of the parking sensorsif i was to give you my email address could you tell me how and what you used as i really really want to get this sorted
Jem did the same as me and used the Xcarlink video interface.
It's really easy to do, just mount the camera, run the cables to the glove box area, mount the interface and connect the cables. The unit comes with cables that loop into the screen video cables and control it when reverse is selected.
Total cost of mine was about ?180. No VX parts used and no VCI code needed.
It was about two days in total but that was because I put all the wires into the factory loom apart from some and used cloth wrap on the loom so it looks like factory job
And also used euro seal connectors??to join the wires
Here is the video interface: http://www.xcarlink....9&cat=41&page=1 Have a look on Ebay though as I got mine from their Ebay shop for ?150!
This is the camera I used: http://www.amazon.co...ailpage_o02_s00 Really small and neat, and only needed a single hole to mount it so no need to take the bumper off
Your such a great help thanks. Did it bring up any electrical problems with the audio system?
So all I need it that camera and the r700 interface then just the wiring in part to do and that's it. The lines on your display does that cone up automatically when you select reverse and is that already programmed into the system?
