12v in-car adaptor issue

It's probably RF interference from the charger plug. I had a similar issue with constant hissing, crackling and generally poor fm reception. Turned out it was the cheap 12v to USB adaptor which I bought from ebay. Not the exact same one but a similar price. I ended up buying a tomtom one for about £10 and the problem miraculously disappeared.
