No you stick them where the parcel shelf rests and it sits on the pads.

No. You just put a small pad on the little ledge the parcel shelf sits on. Just pick a pack up at your local pound shop.

As BigMelt said, turn the rubber stoppers around. I also put some soft felt pads on the wee strips where the parcel sits. Cured.
