So, I have a few DVDs that I have collected over the years and seeing as I can play movies on the new car, I thought, hey, let's convert them on to a memory stick and play em in the car whilst having lunch, or whilst out dogging, .

Trouble is, I still can't work out how to grab the DVD as they are originals and copyrighted, and then getting them into a format that will play in the car.

Any ideas how to do this and what programmes/settings to use.

I appreciate copyright laws etc, but I've paid for em so don't see what is wrong with changing it to a format I can use.

Download a 21 day trial version of AnyDVD from slysoft, that is your copyright decoded. You must do it all within 21 days before trial runs out.

Then download format factory or freemake video convertor, these are your format convertors.

It's legal to back up disks that you own. Some now come with digital versions to avoid having to do this.

No thats what i am saying if i get a post deleted for puting a link to a download site for films why is other link to copying software still there, if somthing is copy protected then you are not allowed to copy that product even as a back up.

The software linked isn't illegal. How people use it is up to them

I often use handbrake to encode video for my iPad. Works really well and nice and simple too.
