  • Lifetime Warranty terminated - worth reading if thinking about ordering new!

Came across this so apologies if it has already been posted but people considering to order a new insignia might want to consider the implications of the Vauxhall statement.

How did they ever get away with calling it a lifetime warranty anyway. It was limited to 100k, also known as 18 months for me. Not even close to a lifetime in any sense of the word.

Never reactivated the Mrs because let's be honest it's not worth it. I'm not paying VX to service it and their check will likely find some repair that's needed

Just brought a MY11 Sigi and got the lifetime warranty with it, and all servicing, pay a nominal fee each month which covers the servicing costs. Looks like i was just in time to get this...

Are you sure you have got the liftime warranty? It is usually only for 1st owners and Network Q vehicles less than 20,000 miles and a year old I think

When I originally read this thread at the beginning of October I was a little concerned because I still hadn't received my Lifetime Warranty paperwork after buying the car in August. I had received an email confirmation welcoming me to the Lifetime Warranty though.

I still hadn't received anything by the end of October so sent them an email querying it.

I've just received a reply today explaining they no longer send out confirmation paperwork or the plastic card and advised me to print out the email as full confirmation and keep it with my records.

Does anybody know when they stopped sending hard confirmations out? I bought my previous Vauxhall in May 2012 and received paperwork then.

I can't see them reneging on the Lifetime Warranty in the future but it might be worth keeping hold of the email just in case.

Bought mine late 2011, received a confirmation letter and new card in 2012 since then it's been email only

Sadly that is all you get now

The dealership simply makes the claim direct on your behalf

I too was hoping for at least some paperwork

The pack received from Network Q is very good

However, this is still required as there are some policy exclusions over the OE warranty

I'm glad I didn't delete the email now.

Opel Ireland are offering a 5yr warranty now and 3yr free servicing, along with attractive finance packages and free upgrades. Will Vauxhall follow suit I wonder?
