Mine is a diesel & heats up not too badly. Takes a few minutes longer in this weather but the heaters work great after a couple of miles & I can adjust it down and it still stays warm.
My car is a 10 plate as well.

The Insignia diesel heats up a lot quicker than my Vectra 1.9 CDTi by about 10-15 mins. Does your temp stay at 90 when it has heated up? Petrols heat up within minutes compared to diesels and always will do
Agree, i had a vec-c too and took a fair while to get up to temp, it ate 2x thermostats in the time i had it too.
For the insignia, i get in, set to 22deg and leave it alone, find that temp comfortable without a coat on. It might get knocked up to 23deg if a bit colder outside.
In summer it gets set to 2deg and left alone, again setting to 20deg if we ever get any sunny weather.

So, if I don't bother with auto climate, and use the vents, fan and heater control, I get so kind of regulation of heat.
What I have noticed is the sensor (which I am assuming is the R2D2 type thing on the dash - as this seems the same as the Vectra) is quite hot when I've had the demister on.
Does this sensor control the auto climate?
