Help planning a trip to New York

I think when we went to New York flights\hotel were booked via Expedia but when we did Boston prior to that we booked flights and then hotels separately as we did a bit of travelling about. I used a combination of Booking.com and one direct i think it was. We also did this for California as we stopped in three different places. It does work pretty well as you get a bit more flexibility and options for where you stop.

Yeah I had a look last night and it does seem abut cheaper. Just means more spending money
