Not sure about the ECU software issue but the DPF one will be from the split pipe causing the DPF to block more than normal. To clear this you need to make sure the car isn't in limp mode and go for a long steady cruise above 2k rpm (in 4th or 5th) and not brake for about 20 mins and that should kick start the Regen process or alternatively do a forced regen to clear the DPF.
