new to the forum and new to the insignia. I'm picking up my first insignia on Saturday, its a 2011 CDTI, SRI with satnav and Bluetooth. as I'm new to the car is there anything I should be aware of?

Good sounding spec you have got.

Urm Dual Mass Flywheels are quite common so make sure thats all okay.

I personally have had a shed load of trouble with mine but I am sure its a Friday afternoon car

DMF and clutch problems are more common on the diesels usually due to how its been driven by previous owners. Check pick up is smooth without any judder. That's the biggy. Other smaller issues are usually from split hoses to the turbo. Easy and cheap to fix. Hopefully it'll be trouble free. Many of them are.

Also Nick, check to ensure it actually has bluetooth!!! This was a factory option that not many went for on lower specs than the Elite and just because it has the steering wheel controls doesn't mean it has bluetooth

thanks mate, I did check when I went to view/test drive the car that it did infact have Bluetooth, even though it was advertised as having it I still wanted to check.

another question, does the aux port in the arm rest take a pen drive with music on? I know you can put your phone etc through it but will a pen drive loaded with music work in the same way?

Nick, the aux port won't take a pen drive but if it has a USB port that will work. You won't be able to stream music from your phone over bluetooth though, just so you know
