Transmission oil for F40 gearbox

What is the best oil to use in the F40 gearbox, will be looking to do an oil change and what quantity of oil is needed - - Thanks Dave

1.8l,forgot what grade I used in old car, but it was castrol syntrans fully synthetic

And don't take any notice of Haynes manual and put 2.4l in, cos you'll blow out a fecking drives haft oil seal like I did

Thanks for the reply bud and I think the oil spec is either 75w 80 or 75w 90.the amount that has to go in is totally confusing but I shall take your word for it.some say its supposed to have 2.8ltr but only put 2.4ltr back in.seems that the less oil been put in is better for the gearbox-----Thanks Dave

do you know where the filler plug is,on gearbox ?

Hello, yes Ive been informed that the gearbox filler plug is under the battery tray, some say remove the battery and others say just move the Ecu to one side. Have you any recommendations - - Dave

It can be done by just un-clipping the ECU and using a clean bit of garden hose and a funnel. Its a lot simpler, though the filler lug can be tough to release in the limited access. Insert a small screwdriver between the hose and the filler hole to act as a breather and measure the oil out before you fill, its easier just to fill in one go.
