Would Clutch gone prevent starting / turning engine over??

Apologies for delay, but to round off this post for any future readers ... symptoms were caused by a seized engine due to failure of the oil pick up seal.

My son in law sold the car for £450 to a buyer who had just smashed his Insignia so I think his plan was to make 1 good un out of 2!

Delay......2 years????thead
