Vxdiag vcx nano gm

Hi guys I don't know if this is the right place for this. I have a thread running in the engine section about insignia 2.0 cdti wont start. I am looking at getting the vxdiag vcx nano if it will program an insignia ecu as I believe mine is shot. I can get a 2nd hand ecu cheap enough but would need programming to my car which I have the car pass for but probably wont have it for the doner ecu. Has anyone got this vxdiag & knows what its capable of doing on the insignia as what I have read it may need an online GM subscription for some programming.
