It's easy....keep the iron at a reasonable temp so you don't burn the smds or board.

That's awesome mines are like a red colour I'd like them blue.

I only have gas soldering iron that I use for wire joining.
I'd hate to break them.
Noticed on the cluster some of mines flicker or don't light up not all the time though.

Solder can dry up through time, causing them to flicker or stop altogether.

Needs to be a temperature controlled iron for pcbs
