If you have a manual keep the clutch depressed.

I've got it on my Insignia B Tourer and wasnt sure initially but now i just leave it and got used to it. To be honest if any car rear ends you its their fault for not paying attention as much as anything else.

On mine if i pull up, put the handbrake on and knock it out of gear and take my foot off the clutch it will stop the engine then start it again the moment i push the clutch in. If i pull up and leave my foot on the brake but knock it out of gear and take my foot off the clutch it stops then will restart when i take my foot off the brake.

In either situation it starts up instantly and is ready to pull away. If anything it took me more time to get used to the lane assist which i really wasnt keen on to start with but have since got used to it.

There are a number of situations where it wont work such as things like the battery charge not being up to it, air con on full blast etc.
