  • Insurance, WTF

Any mods will put the prices with a 'normal' insurer. Try Adrian flux with your mods, they specialise in modded cars.

The increase you are seeing from Hastings is normal, most insurers put the price up for renewal but they will match the new price from the comparison sites (most of them do anyway).

Insurance quotes used to go down years ago when you renewed, that's what kept you with that particular company. Now they couldn't give a flying feck. This is simply because when you leave someone else will take your place before you have finished your cancellation phone call. What they want is the numpties who just re-insure without checking and trying to get a cheaper one. Mugs.

I had the exact problem with MORE THAN.

They refused to honour their online quote in a comparison. In my case i was looking at a £200.00 increase from last year.

I told them, quite politely, to get stuffed. But asked if i could cancel my current policy and take up ,a new policy based on the online quote, but maintain all my current conditions...........They said no problem in that sir so i saved myself a few bob by being what i thought was being a bit cheeky.

Same issue with More Than for me as well.....after initially stiffing me for the final month of my previous years insurance when i swapped from a Focus ST170 to the Insiginia ST doubling the final months payment due to me "having no experience of driving an Insignia" when i got the renewal through it had gone up loads. Did an online quote as a new customer to find it was less than the previous year on the Focus but when i rang to go through it all they offered me a special loyalty bonus that was still more than the new customer rate and were shocked when i said i'd leave it and go elsewhere. Ended up with Admiral for even less and a free Meerkat cuddly toy for my niece!

Yes, to be on the safe side. They shouldn't affect the premium, or could even reduce it due to the additional privacy.

Both More Than and Admiral were a joke when I was with them. More Than tried to book me in to a 'local garage' 300 miles away after my friend ran into the back of me & then Admiral weren't interested in keeping me as a customer & tried to stiff me for over ?800 to insure the sig. Worst part was they wouldn't allow me to requote on any website so suffice to say they got told to stuff it

You think thats bad! I just had a quote for a 2003 Smart 700cc car I want to get also. The lowest quote was £343.32!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I only pay £250 for the Insignia!

My missus has a Smart Car very similar spec. Try RIAS was by far the cheapest we could find.
