If it's fuel / air starvation or along those lines then maybe take Seanio up on his offer ,
Because the things to be looking for would be fuel trims
And I really don't know if the vauxhall dealer is really taking notice of what you are explaining
And they may well be just plugging in there diagnostic tool ,checking fir fault codes
And taking it for a jolly then returning it to you as NFF !

even put some redex in as well, to be fair it went better and further on Texaco premium than any other fuel I have tried.
It's back in at Vauxhall on Wednesday I'm might ask them if they will put and updated ECU map on, they'll probably say no but I have nothing to lose.
I take it you'll be going to Perry's, you can ask them if Vauxhall have issued any updates regarding engine software, they wont be able to put another map in but they can reprogram the engine ECU with the standard software.
They will probably tell you its a characteristic of that engine, which reading up about it, it seems a lot of people have the same problem. How long you had the car, can you reject it?.

If you want me to plug it in I will, or do you want to wait and see what they say.

        Yes I'm going to Perry's AGAIN .

I might as well see what they say and if no luck you can plug it for me and see if there missing something there keeping it for 4 days so they should have time to take it for a drive and suss out the problem. One of problems is speaking with the tech with this silly virus it's like there keeping them moth balled and you can't get near them you always end up relaying the message through someone else.

Where i work im in charge of 15 HGV'S,
When something goes wrong Mechanically or electrically its a waste of time speaking to the service counter, not that they are bad lads, its just i would rather speak to the organ grinder, as then the job gets done. For someone to pass on an explanation of the fault, "well" you might as well just jabber in ewok as they havent a clue what you are on about, Although they make out they do. Good luck and report back, and dont hesitate if you still need help.

had a look on Superchips UK to see if they had mapped one as usually they rolling road it and show the before and aft figures,
Just thinking it may show up on there, but as yet they haven't mapped one.
I would think that if Vauxhall don't find a problem and say its a trait of that engine, a good mapper with a rolling road would cure it.

when you bought a petrol with a turbo years ago you bought it for performance, nowadays Turbo's are fitted for leaner burns in the combustion chambers
they screw them down on fuel that much they try and make them run on air

That's my next option but I'd rather Vauxhall do it and save me £300. So I'll probably be asking for recommendations for a good remapper around West Yorkshire, I'm pretty sure 99.9% that Perry's won't be to find the problem let alone fix it

                      Afternoon all,

Just a quick update, I have just picked my car up from Vauxhall which has had the compressor replaced and a new slave cylinder all under warranty. The first thing I asked when I went in was have you managed to fix the engine stumble/jerk which she piloted said no the mechanic gas taken it for a road test and it was perfect oh bugger !!.

Anyways from my little drive from Huddersfield to Elland I drove it as hard as I could considering traffic etc and it didn't miss a beat no stumble or anything it actually feels like a different car now this might be a fluke so later on tonight when traffic dies down I'm going to go for another drive this problem stumble isn't intermittent it's been consistent for months.

So there is my little update I'll report back later.

After an hour driving round the car has been flawless with no stumbling or anything.

Hopefully I can say this issue has been fixed

Your recent issues have already given you experience. You can help new members who sign up with a floppy clutch pedal and jerky acceleration in higher gears. It's surprising how much it helps when someone has an answer to a problem. It gives you the little bit of info that can persuade the dealer to get on with the job rather than p!ssing you about.

Don't forget...We also accept bragging (start your own thread in members cars for that. I can't remember seeing your car?), banter (we love a bit of banter on here) and just general socialising. You don't need to be a prolific poster but it is nice when members stick around after their issues are sorted.
