  • 2019 Auto Stop Start Disabling!!??

Hi, dose anyone know if the VX Dealer can switch off the Auto Stop/Start function on a 2017-On Insignia B?
I have read that there are OBD devices in the US for the Buick Regal but ideally it should be possible to do it through the factory software??

I did search our Forum, so apologies if i've missed any threads on this..........

Well actually if you can have something plugged in which draws down your battery enough to stop it working but not stop car from starting, eg a dashcam with full parking mode would probably draw enough to disable it.

From this thread; https://insignia-drivers.uk/threads/...uto+stop+start it says "Certain settings of the climate control system may inhibit an Autostop"

Has anyone found this Climate setting by chance, or better still is there work around with say the bonnet switch or an extra resistance in say the luggage light circuit for instance...
Air Bag lights work on a 0.2 Ohm resistance so a resistor can substitute an air bag warning light & maintain continuity so...??

Mappers should be able to remove this (not something general person like me can do) but it will invalidate the class of vehicle the car is assigned to.

Just leave your aircon switched on, that will stop it from switching off when you get to a set of lights.

Maybe they've changed the programming then, if my aircon is on it doesn't stop,
luckily I have a button to switch it off anyhow, but I do forget and that is how I found out it doesn't work if the aircon is on.

I understand its there for a reason, and a good idea if your stuck in traffic for a considerable time,
but to stop for sometimes which could be 30 seconds then start again - its a pain in the arse

I don't like it, I don't like the lane assist either, I switch both off every time I drive, I'd be happy to disable them both and just select them when I want them!

Strangely when my towing electrics are plugged in the lane assist disables itself but I'm sure autostop still works.....might have to test that.

I take it you still have an on off button in the insignia b,

I'm thinking with Iansignia wanting it removing that Vauxhall had done away with the button.

Thanks Chaps, all good advice (as always...) I'll try the AirCon ON first & see if it dose the job..., if not i'm gonna trick the bonnet switch & live with the dash light, im happier clearing dash lights than i am remembering to press the consul OFF button all the time...
Lane correction is double edged... if your stressed from work all day & in auto pilot mode its great but a pain if ur doing a bit of back lane stuff.....

Update... Leaving the Aircon on didn't work for me so I unplugged the wire to the lower bonnet catch today and apart from clearing a dash warning once on start up its worked a treat.......
Will keep you updated especially if i get an electrical fire...... Lol....

Isn't clearing the bonnet error every time you start the car just the same as turning off the stop/start every time start the car?
