Check the pipe work that goes from the sensor and around the back of the engine. Theres an elbow that does from rubber to metal and it can split. I wouldnt discount the fact the sensor might be faulty though, it has happened with fairly new sensors.

Engine management light has come on P0016 fault code showing , cambelt is tight and no lumpy idle. Is it worth changing the cam sensor/crank sensor ?
